About Hedgewitch Adventures

Hi, I’m Kathryn Clover, owner of Hedgewitch Adventures. I have taught wild food foraging and cookery for 15 years. I teach courses for the general public as well as privately. I also lived in a hazel pole bender in the woods for 3 years and started 3 ecovillage projects and community gardens, including Syon Lane Community Allotment, Hounslow Community Land Project, West London and Fishermead Community Garden, Milton Keynes.

I’ve been featured on BBC Focus East-West and Tring Radio. I hold a Certificate of Herbal Studies approved by the NIHM (National Institute Of Herbal Medicine) as well as Food Health & Hygiene training. I also write regularly for Bushcraft Magazine (UK) and Backwoods Home (US). View my articles on my online portffolio at

For the last 15 years I have lived on a narrowboat moored on the Grand Union Canal with my son and my cat! I love low-impact boat life, being so close to wilderness has always been my dream. I believe in a future where we are fully connected with our environment and our sustainable, locally-produced lifestyle means less fear and strife on a planet presently obsessed with fossil fuels.

I’ve run courses for:

The Parks Trust MK, The Scouts, The Women’s Institute, The Open University, The Trefoil Guild (Guides), Nature’s Harvest Health Foods, plus birthday parties, team-building and private events!

I have Public Liability Insurance/ Enhanced DBS /Food Hygiene & First Aid Certificates. Tailored Risk Assessments on request.

H.A. Reviews

“It’s like learning to read -the hedge is not just a green blur anymore!”

Matt, Milton Keynes

‘I’ve attended several of Kat’s foraging walks and also the herbal remedies workshop. I absolutely love learning about her lived experience of foraging and actively using the herbs in a creative way in her daily life. Learning from Kat has given me confidence to take away the knowledge and experiment with herbs.’

Zeenat Quadir, Luton

” The Fungi Identification course was superb, I learned so much! My edibles haul filled the whole bench…thankyou Phil and Kat!”

Rachael, Hemel Hempstead

‘A wonderful way to find out more about our environment and the uses of plants. The last one we did was the fungi identification which was a fabulous walk with so much to learn. Strongly recommended’
